Welcome to my new venture as a hobby photographer. Let me explain.
Life choices in the past few years have meant that I would retire from my teaching profession after 17 years. I then filled in occasionally in the classroom for 2 years and continued to pursue my photography as a hobby. As of now, I have decided to hang up my teaching cap permanently to spend my time with photography only. And with other personal activities of course. And so, here I am.
What can you expect from me?
I am offering a part-time schedule only. I am not looking to making my photography a career, but rather a way to continue my love of my craft. For example, wedding seasons will not be filled with every available weekend. In fact, I will take only 2 or 3 weddings per year.
I am offering 3 or 4 mini session days (for example, Christmas, Summer Beach Sunsets, Sunflower Fields, Fall Foliage) per year. This is where families book a 15mn timeslot at a specified location on a specified day, all of my choosing. As many pictures that can be taken are taken, and all successful poses are edited and offered to each family.
I am offering a select few longer sessions of a half hour or an hour in a private session on a beach, in a field, on a trail, or in your home, to capture moments you will cherish for a long time.
I will continue to volunteer for local events -- keep looking for my photographs popping up on social media!
My prices will continue to be reflected as very reasonable in this industry.
What does this mean for you?
It means on the one hand that I will have many openings for you to choose from, but it will also mean you may have to book me well in advance to secure your dates (once I fill my quota, I will not open up other dates).
It means your photos will be edited in a shorter turn around time than is often possible for busier photographers.
It means I will have to ask for a small retainer to secure your spot as I won't be booking a solid schedule.
